Tour groups can walk along the beach, enjoying the sunset and picking up shells to the Walskipper or Tapas for a sundowner and enjoy their supper where after they can return by bus for a comfortable evening rest.

For the more energetic there is a 15km walk to St Francis Bay along the beach.

Houtbosch Bay is situated 500m from the lagoon (Seekoei Nature Reserve) a bird and fish paradise, where Flamingos can be seen during the winter months.  There is a bird hide. From the balconies of the log homes you can watch dolphins surfing the breakers of the Indian Ocean. Winter brings the whales (July to October), whilst summer is the time to cool off in the sea after an early-morning walk on the beach.

Deep sea fishing trips can be arranged (Marlin and Tuna during May). Trips to St Francis are a firm favourite with a boat cruise (sundowner) on the canals. There are various adventures and activities in the nearby area, like Golf, Tennis, beach horse riding, Quad Adventures, game drives, hiking, bird watching, angling, Dolphin and Whale watching, Sandboarding, Scuba Diving, Canoeing, Windsurfing and lots more. Don’t leave Jeffreys Bay before experiencing the magic of the perfect wave!! Surf schools will provide you with all necessary equipment and skills.
